Final Post of Essay #3

Crack!
Everyone has at least one thing that annoys them more than anything else. The one thing that truly gets under their skin. That one thing that they can’t stand, and the very thought of it makes them cringe. That one thing that I can’t stand, that makes me cringe, is when people crack their body parts. It is the most disturbing sound in the whole entire world, and I hate it.

When people crack their knuckles, necks, and backs it sounds like something in their body is breaking. It sounds like one of their bones is snapping in half. That cracking sound seriously disturbs me. I don’t know how people get pleasure from doing that. Wherever I go there is always someone cracking something. I can never get away from it. In class, at a restaurant, even at a movie, there is always someone cracking some part of their body. Hearing someone crack their body parts is like hearing nails on a chalkboard for me. That cracking sound makes me want to scream. Every time I see a person making a move to crack their body parts, I turn away as quick as I can. I also plug my ears, so I can’t hear that vile sound. I try to avoid the sight and sound of cracking body parts, but that is really hard to do. The government should make a law that says people can only crack their body parts in private, not in public. I don’t think they’re going to make a law like that anytime soon though. I know it may sound silly, but I have my reasons for hating the sound of cracking body parts.

All my reasons for hating the sound of cracking body parts are legitimate reasons. My first reason is that when I was little I thought if you cracked your knuckles or toes they would fall off. When I was little, I was seriously terrified of cracking my knuckles and my toes. All the other kids thought their knuckles would get fat if they cracked them, and I thought they would fall off. I don’t know why I thought that, but I did. I have never cracked my knuckles, thanks to my fear that they would fall off. Now, whenever I see or hear someone crack their knuckles or toes, I picture their fingers or toes falling off. I would say that’s a good reason for hating the sound and sight of people cracking their knuckles and toes. My ex boyfriend didn’t think it was a good reason; in fact he thought it was funny. He would chase me around and try to crack my knuckles and toes. Notice how I said EX boyfriend, what a creep. The fact that I thought my toes and fingers would fall off if I cracked them, is not the only reason I hate when people crack their body parts.

Another reason I hate when people crack their body parts is because when people crack their necks, I think of those action movies. Those action movies where the two guys are fighting and one guy snaps the other guy’s neck. Then, the guy dies instantly. Whenever I see someone crack their neck, I think they’re going to snap their head off. One of these days it’s going to happen. Someone’s going to crack their neck and accidentally kill themselves. When that happens I’m going to laugh, and let everyone know that I predicted that was going to happen.

My final reason for hating when people crack their body parts is because when people crack their backs you can hear every vertebra in their spine crack. That crunching sound makes me shiver. When I hear all those vertebras cracking I picture the person’s spine breaking into tiny pieces. It’s a seriously disturbing image. Those are my reasons for hating the sight and sound of people cracking their body parts.

The one thing that I can’t stand, that makes me cringe, is when people crack their body parts. Cracking body parts is the most disgusting thing in the whole entire world. When I hear that sound of someone cracking their necks, backs, or knuckles I just want to scream. It’s like hearing nails on a chalkboard for me. I don’t know why anyone does, but they do. They should make a law saying that you can’t crack your body parts in public; and that you can only crack them in private. I know it’s a weird pet peeve, but I have some legitimate reasons. I truly hate when people crack their body parts, and I wish I never had to hear or see it again!

Revision summary and evaluation

My peer reviewer was McKensie Crabtree. She read my paper, and gave me some feedback on it. Grammar was one of my biggest problems. McKensie told me which words I should delete, because they were extra words that I didn't need. She also told me which words I misspelled. Another grammar mistake I did was I didn't put some words in the right tense. Mckensie also made some punctuation corrections. She broke up some of my sentences, and inserted commas. In some sentences she got rid of my commas, and inserted semicolons. Another suggestion McKensie made was for me to switch the place of my first and second paragraphs. She thought my essay would make more sense if I switched those two paragraphs. Another suggestion McKensie made was for me to not repeat my self so much. She thought I repeated the same thing over and over again. The last suggestion she made was for me to reword my conclusion. She thought that my conclusion just repeated sentences from my previous paragraphs. She told me I should switch it up. Those were all the suggestions McKensie Crabtree gave me.
I'm going to use McKensie's comments to improve my essay. The first thing I am going to do is go back and fix all my grammar mistakes. I will take out all the extra words I don't need. Also I will fix all my spelling and tense errors. I will read through my paper and make sure everything is spelled right, and that all my words are in the right tense. The next thing I am going to fix is all my punctuation errors. I will go back and insert periods where they are needed.I will break up some of my sentences, so that they don't look like run-ons. I will go back and insert some semicolons where they should be instead of commas. After I fix those mistakes, I am going to read through my paper and reword some things. I am going to reword some things so it does not sound like I am repeating myself. I will try to change things up. The next thing I am going to do is redo my conclusion. I am going to rewrite it so that it does not sound like it is just repeating everything from the body paragraphs. Those are all the revisions I am going to make to my paper.

Extra Credit

Lili Wright is an excellent story teller. She told some very personal stories about events that happened to her throughout her life. The stories she told were extremely detailed. She was very good at creating mental pictures. Some of the mental pictures she created were disturbing. For example, Mrs. Wright told us how her husband and her tried to have a second child. She described how her and her husband had sexual intercourse. I did not need to hear a detailed description of that. She also created some very sad mental images. She told the audience how she lost her second child in the middle of the night. I wanted to cry when she described how she held the grey sac of fluid that was supposed to be her child. I felt so bad for her when she told the audience that she couldn't break down, because her daughter was in the next room. "Mom's can't break down in front of their children, they have to be strong" is what she said. She went through all those hormone injections, and she did an in vitro fertilization for nothing. She also told the audience about how her mother battled breast cancer. Lili Wright shared some very emotional stories with the audience. She didn't just tell stories from her point of view. Towards the end of her reading she told a story from her daughter's point of view. The story from her daughters point of view was from when they took a trip to Spain. The story from her daughter's point of view was very detailed, just like the rest of Mrs. Wright's stories. The daughter's story talked about how she hid under the table at restaurants, and how she jumped on the bed in the hotel. It described everything the daughter did on the trip. At the end of the reading, the audience had a chance to ask Mrs. Wright questions. One audience member asked her if it was hard for her to talk about the sad personal experiences she had been through. Lili Wright told the audience how it was hard for her and how sometimes she would have to stop writing, because it was so hard for her. I think that Lili Wright is an extremely brave person for sharing all her personal stories with the world. Not only does she share her personal stories, but she shares them in extreme detail. I enjoyed Lili Wright's reading, and all her stories. Well most of her stories anyway.

I can't wait to be a teacher =)

When I was little I used to dream about what I would be when I grew up. For a while I wanted to be a dancer, and then I decided I wanted to be a vet. Once I found out vet's had to put animals to sleep, I decided that I didn't want to be a vet anymore. Then one day, while I was doing my homework, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. I still to this day want to become a teacher.
When I was in elementary school, I loved going to school. All my teachers made school exciting. I actually liked doing homework in elementary school. I thought it was fun. I loved school so much, that in my free time I would play school. I would pretend to be the teacher, and I would make my little sister be the student. Sometimes she didn't want to play, so I had to settle for my stuffed animals. I would give fake tests, and then I would grade them. I loved grading those fake tests; I would always put stickers on them. Playing school was fun, and I decided I wanted to do it for real. I wanted to become a teacher.
I have wanted to be a teacher since elementary school. I think that it would be a job that makes me happy. I want to be one of those cool teachers that kids love. I don't want to be one of those teachers that kids hate, and are afraid of. My class is going to be fun not boring. I'm going to make kids want to come to my class. I want kids to go home, and tell their parents how much they love going to my class. I want to be just like my first grade teacher Mrs. Kash. She was my favorite teacher. Our class would have writing time, which was time when we learned how to write cursive. Mrs. Kash would go out in the hallway, put on an army hat, and then come back into the room. When she came back into the room, she was no longer Mrs. Kash, she was General Kash. It was pretty cool. I loved writing time. Mrs. Kash would even talk like an actual army general. She is one of the reasons I want to be a teacher, and my goal is to be a great teacher like her.
When I become a teacher, after I graduate college, I want to teach the third grade. Third grade students are not too old and not too young. I don’t want to teach kids any older than third grade, because they start getting attitudes and they loose their cuteness. I want the little kids, but I actually want to teach. I don’t want to finger paint and have naptime, like in kindergarten. I think third grade is a good grade to teach for me. Third grade was a fun time for me. That was the year our class got to watch baby chicks. Our class got the chicks when they were still eggs, and we got to watch them hatch. It was an amazing thing to watch. After all the chicks hatched, our class had to give them back to the farm. Also in third grade, our class took a lot of field trips. We went to the recycling plant, and we went to a play in Chicago. Third grade was a fun year.
I have wanted to become a teacher since I was in elementary school. I want to be a fun teacher, that kids love. I hope that in the future I'm as good as a teacher, as my first grade teacher Mrs. Kash. I loved her and she's one of the reasons I want to be a teacher. When I become a teacher, I want to teach the third grade. Third grade was a fun year for me, and it's the perfect age for me to teach. Third grade students are not too old and not too young. I hope that I'm good at teaching, and that my students will like me. I can't wait to be a teacher.

CRACK

One thing that makes me furious is when people crack their body parts. I think it is disgusting. When people crack their knuckles, their backs, and necks it sounds like something in their body is breaking. It sounds like something in their body is snapping in half. That cracking sound seriously disturbs me. Wherever you go there is always someone cracking something. I can never get away from it. In class, at a restaurant, even at a movie, there is always someone cracking something.
I think one of the reasons I hate it so much is because when I was little I thought if you cracked your knuckles they would fall off. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. Now whenever anyone cracks some part of their body I cringe. When people crack their necks, I always think they are going to die, or that their head will snap off. Have you ever seen those action movies where two guys are fighting, and one of them snaps the other guy’s neck? That is what I think of when someone cracks their neck. Also when people crack their backs, and you can hear every vertebra crack, that is disturbing. I don't know why people crack anything, but they do.
I have never cracked my knuckles, my back, or my neck. My ex boyfriend would chase my around, and try to crack my knuckles. He thought it was funny, but notice how I said he was my ex boyfriend. Some of my friends think it is hilarious that I can’t stand the sound or sight of someone cracking their body parts. Usually, those friends that think it’s hilarious crack their backs, knuckles, and necks in front of me. Again I don’t know why people crack their body parts. It is truly the most disgusting thing in the world to me.
Hearing someone crack something in their body is like hearing nails on a chalkboard for me. The sound of cracking body parts makes me want to scream. Every time I see someone crack some part of their body, I turn away as quick as I can. I also plug my ears, so I can’t hear it. I try to avoid the sound and sight of cracking body parts, but that is really hard to do. I think they should make a law that says you can’t crack any body parts in public. The law should say if you need to crack your body parts do it in private, so that no one can hear it. I would definitely vote in favor of a law like that. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s going to be a law like that anytime soon.
Cracking body parts is the most disgusting thing in the whole entire world. The sight and sound of it makes me cringe. When I hear that sound of someone cracking their necks, backs, or knuckles I just want to scream. It’s like hearing nails on a chalkboard for me. I don’t know why anyone does, but they do. They should make a law saying that you can’t crack your body parts in public, and that you can only crack them in private. I truly hate when people crack their body parts, and I wish I never had to hear or see it again!

My Passion

Passion gives us a reason to live. To have a passion for something is just like loving something. Anyone can have a passion about anything. Someone could have a passion about a sport, singing, painting, another person, or anything else. My passion is dancing. Dancing is what I love, without it I don't know what I would do.
When I was younger I took ballet. I loved the recitals we would perform. One time I went to the front and center of the stage, and kept dancing while everyone else walked off stage. When my mom would take me to the grocery store I would practice my ballet routine in the isles. Basically, I practiced anywhere and anytime I could. That was sometimes a bad idea, like when i knocked over the Oreo display at the grocery store. I still practiced in the grocery store after that. As soon as I got home from school on weekdays, I would run downstairs and practice my routine. Sometimes I would make up my own routines, just for fun. I loved ballet, but they did not have a ballet team in high school.
When I got into high school I decided to try out for the colorguard team. I was so nervous. There were 75 girls trying out, and they were only taking 20. For the tryouts everyone had to do a dance, and spin a piece of equipment. Three days latter the tryouts were over, and the coach posted the list of the people who made the team. My name was on that list. I was so excited. Practices started a week after the tryouts were over. We learned a warmup dance routine, which I loved, and we practiced the basics of dancing. For example, keeping your feet pointed, jumps, and turns. Eventually we got into the fun stuff, like barrel jumps and illusions. When I was on the colorguard team we did not only practice ballet. We practiced every type of dance that there was. For example we practiced hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. Being on the colorguard team was loads of fun, and it took up a lot of hours. Over winter break and summer break we would have practices from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a two hour dinner break. Those were fun, but exhausting. I was on the colorguard team for all four years of my high school career. I didn't only dance on teams though, I also danced for fun in my spare time.
On the weekends I would go to different clubs in Chicago with my friends. We would get to the club at 9p.m. and we would leave whenever it closed. The clubs usually closed around 2 or 3 a.m., so we would dance for hours. It was my favorite thing to do on weekends. I loved standing in the middle of the floor, dancing the night away. To me that was the most fun thing in the world. On weekdays I would dance in school during passing period. My high school would play music during passing period, so every once in a while I would dance in the hallways. It had to be a good song playing though. On the drive to and from school, I would dance in my car. Basically I would flay my arms around and head bang. It was fun, especially when my little sister was in the car, she loved it when I danced. When i get the chance to dance I do.
Dancing is my passion, and without it I don't know what I would do. When I was little I was in ballet, and I practiced my routines every chance I got. When I got into high school I joined the colorguard team, and we did every type of dance there is. On the weekends I go to the clubs with my friends, and dance the night away. In my free time, I dance whenever I can. I love to dance, it's what makes me happy. Dancing is my passion.

My Home Town

I live in Schererville, Indiana. Schererville is about five to six hours away from Evansville. It depends on how you drive. Schererville is a bigger town, but it's not big enough to be a city. It's my hometown, and I would recommend that you visit it. There are lots of great places to visit while you're in town.
In Schererville there are plenty of restaurants and place to shop. There are lots of great resuruants, but my favorite restaurant would have to be Pop's. They have the best roast beef sandwiches in the world. Taking a bite of that sandwich is like taking a bite of heaven, it's that delicious. Another great restaurant would have to be Pepino's. It's a small Italian restaurant that has amazing food. Not only is there food amazing they give you such huge portions, that you can never eat it all in one sitting. Pop's and Pepino's are my two favorite restaurants in Schererville. Not only does Schererville have great food, it also has great shopping. There are your basic stores like Target, Old Navy, Bath and Body Works, Best Buy, and many more. There is also the Woodfield Mall. It is a two story mall with tons of stores to choose from. There's a store for everyone at the mall, and there is a huge food court. My two favorite stores at the Woodfield Mall are Wet Seal and Charlotte Rouse. Those two stores are mainly for girls. Shopping and eating at amazing restaurants are just two of the many things you can do in Schererville.
There are some small business in Schererville that I recommend you check out. If you love to golf, play arcade games, or drive goat carts you should visit Ziggy's. It's a fun place to visit. If you life hookah then you should visit the Penguin. The Penguin is a small Hookah bar that has lots of flavors to choose from. My personal favorite flavor is Blueberry. They also have some delicious coffee. So if you life hookah, you should stop by the Penguin. Another business I would recommend you to visit would be the Albanese Candy Factory. The factory gives tours, and shows how candy is made. It's kind of like the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but there's no ompa lompas. The factory has every type of candy you could ever imagine, and it's all delicious. If you go there I suggest you try the chocolate covered cookie dough bites, those are my favorite. The chocolate covered gummie bears are also really good, so you should try those too. The Albansese Candy Factory, The Penguin, and Ziggy's are all fun local businesses that you should definitely visit while in Schererville.
Another great thing about Schererville would be the night life. There are clubs for teens and adults, and if your not into the whole clubbing thing you can always go to the movies. One of the teen clubs is Voltage, it's for teens 18 to 20 years old. Voltage has two dance floors and a foam floor, so it's pretty cool. It's a fun place to go to on the weekends. And one of the adult clubs is Hoolighans, it's for adults 21 and older. At Hoolighans there is one main dance floor and then there is a fullystocked bar. Both clubs are fun, especially if like to dance. For adults 21 and over there are lots of bars to go to. If you are driving down route 30 you are sure to find a bar. If you're not into the whole clubbing/bar thing there are two Kerasote Theatres you can go to. Both theatres are new, and they are located right next to eachother. Different movies play at each theatre, so there are more show times for each movie. Who doesn't love a good movie? Schererville's night life is pretty good.
If you are planning on traveling, I hope you pick to travel to Schererville, Indiana. It's a great place to visit. There's great food and shopping. The small businesses around town are great. Also the night life is pretty fun. Schererville is a great town to visit, and I hope you get the chance to see it some day.
