Alternative/Rock is my favorite genre of music. It gets me pumped up, and it keeps me going. There are some songs from this genre that I listen to about every day.
1. Uprising by Muse. This song came out this year, and is on their album The Resistance. Uprising has a great instrumental background, and the lyrics are catchy.
2. Breathe by Breaking Benjamin. This is one of their older songs from their album Phobia. The lead singer Benjamin Burnley has an amazing voice, and you can hear it in this song.
3. Break by Three days Grace. This song is from Three Days Grace’s newest album Life Starts Now. I really like the lyrics to this song, if you can’t stand the way this place is take yourself to higher places. That’s just a sample of the lyrics.
4. Kiss With a Fist by Florence and the Machine. This song has a good beat to it, and it’s a lot of fun to dance to. This song is from their album Lungs.
5. Meet me on the Equinox by Death Cab for Cutie. This song is on the soundtrack for the new motion picture New Moon. It’s the bands newest song, and it just came out this year
6. All to Myself by Marianas Trench. This song is fun and upbeat. It's on their latest album master theatre. The lead singers voice sounds amazing. The band members are Josh Ramsay, Ian Casselman, Matt Webb, Micheal Ayley.
7. Awake and Alive by Skillet. This song is from their newest cd Awake. The song is sort of a duet between the two main singers. One of them is a guy and the other is a girl, so the duet sounds really cool. I love the instrumental background in the song, because it sounds great with the singers voices.

8. Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. This song is from their new cd It's Blitz. The album was released in March 2009. The song became widely known after it played on a episode of the show Gossip Girl. The song has a different sound to it. There is some keyboard and drums in the background. The song has a good beat , and it's a great song to jam to.

9. Do you wanna by The Kooks. It's from their newest album Konk. The album was released last year in 2008. The song has an awesome guitar background.
10. Redlight District by Porcelain and the tramps. This song has a beat that you can dance to. It has a weird techno background. The lead singer has a cool, different voice.

11.Eat You Alive by Limp Bizkit. This song has some screaming in it, but not a lot. It has a cool guitar and drum backgroudn. This is one of those songs that gets you pumped up.

12. Hero of War by Rise Against. This is one of the bands newest songs. The song is about a soldier and his experience in war. It has an acoustic background.

Positive TV

In today's society when children misbehave the parents blame TV. TV is not always the problem though, sometimes it's just the parenting. Even if there are TV shows that are bad influences on children, parents can prevent their children from watching those bad shows. Parents can put parental locks on the TV so that those shows will not even appear when they are on. With the parental lock, children can only watch positive TV. Positive TV is a good influence on children, it was on me when I was younger. Sabrina The Teenage Witch was my favorite show when I was younger, and it had a positive influence on me.
Sabrina The Teenage which was about a girl in high school, who just found out that she was a witch. Sabrina lived with her two aunts, that were also witches. Salem was Sabrina's talking cat, she didn't know he could talk, until she found out she was a witch. Sabrina's aunts were the ones that told her she was a witch. She wasn't an evil witch, and she didn't have warts like you see in the movies. She was a normal high school girl, with super powers. In the show Sabrina had to earn her witches license, so that she could use her powers.
The way Sabrina earned her license, was by passing all these different tests. The tests were not only about how to use her powers, but they were also about doing the right thing morally. In the tests she would have to overcome obstacles using her powers, and part of the obstacles were always learning a different lesson about right and wrong. For example, one of her tests was to turn into all the elements ( fire, wind, earth, water). During that test she learned that she needed to control her emotions, and not overact in certain situations. Sabrina passed that test with flying colors.
The show Sabrina The Teenage Witch was a good influence on me, when I was younger. The show taught you a lot of lessons on morals. I watched that show every Friday night, and every Friday night I would learn a new lesson. Thanks to that show, I did not have to learn those moral lessons the hard way. There is a lot of great shows out there just like Sabrina The Teenage Witch, that have a good influence on kids.
Parents today can blame TV all they want for their children's bad behavior, but in the end they can control what TV shows their kids watch. Parental locks are a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to TV. If parents are going to blame TV for their kid's bad behavior, the may as well blame TV for their good behavior too. Some TV shows are a good influence on kids, like Sabrina The Teenage Witch. Those are the TV shows kids should be watching.
